I’m back in the sourdough game...

And what this has to do with yoga and our strength practices...

I am back in the sourdough bread-baking game.

And I’m enthusiastic. Excited, even.

I’ve been here before. I loved it. I enjoyed it. The bread was great. At least most of the time… ;)

But over time, I complicated things.

More complex recipes. More tools. Different flours. All in the pursuit of the perfect loaf.

I read books, watched YouTube tutorials and, before I knew it, I had fallen deep into an Instagram sourdough bubble.

And let me tell you: that bubble is huge. And confusing. ;)

Eventually, I had enough. And instead of going back to the basics, I stopped.

At first, that felt like a relief. But then I missed it.

There really is nothing quite like the smell and taste of warm bread coming out of the oven.

So… I’m back.

But this time, I’m keeping it simple.

(Just manifested it here ;))

Simple recipes. Simple tools. Just baking sourdough bread and enjoying it.

Note to myself: always bake more than one loaf. Because apparently eating an entire loaf in one day is possible...and good things are meant to be shared with friends and neighbours.

And this got me thinking about yoga and strength

We can make yoga and strength training complicated, too.

There are endless methods, opinions and ideas about the “right” way to do it.

And then there are all the ideas we have about ourselves:

Do I have a yoga body? Am I a gym person? Am I strong enough? Am I flexible enough? Am I spiritual enough?

Sometimes, all that information and all those expectations don't make us more excited or confident.

They confuse us.

They can even make us stop, or never start.

But what if we simply started where we are?

What if, instead of listening to all the noise, we learned to listen to how we feel along the way?

Then practice can become a natural part of our lives, rather than another overwhelming project on the to-do list.

You can move, adapt, get stronger, dive deeper, explore and feel the benefits, without having to become someone else first.

And this is what I mean by Strength with Ease.

Ease doesn't mean less.

It means letting go of what isn't necessary.

The practices I offer are thoughtful, effective and powerful. You are invited to explore what works for you, with respect for your body, your needs and where you are today.

A practice that fits into your life.

And perhaps that's what I’m learning from my sourdough, too:

❤️‍🔥 Sometimes going back to the basics isn't going backwards.

❤️‍🔥 Sometimes it’s exactly what allows us to enjoy something again.

If you’d like to explore this way of practising with me, have a look at my offers on this page, or get in touch directly.

And now, I’m off to bake another loaf. ;)

❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
